SELECTED APPLICATIONS OF MELT-THRU SYMBOLS WITH GROOVE SYMBOLS
Several applications of the melt-thru symbol are shown in Figure 14.5 and Figure 14.6. In Figures 14.5(a) through (c), the melt-thru symbol is used with a groove weld. However, it can also be used for flange welds as in Figure 14.7(a) and (b). The melt-thru symbol is used in the same manner and has the same significance for flange welds as it does for groove welds.
